Galgate occurs as little village south of Lancaster University, about half the mile south of Lancaster itself in the County of Lancashire in England. A title Galgate is from either Old English 'Gal-gata', meaning 'the road to Scotland'.
Because of its close proximity to the university campus numerous students from either Lancaster University choose to rent houses in the village, in spite of comparatively couple bus company. A A6 Preston to Lancaster road runs northward-south through the centre of the village, & junction 33a of the M6 is nearby. The major railway from Preston to Lancaster passes nearby however there exists non the station until Lancaster. A Lancaster Canal also runs through the village & has the marina for narrowboats.
Inside July 2002 ten-season-old Jade Slack, world health organization was staying around the home in the village, tragically died of the drug overdose.
